So, Aaron WAS off the bottle, off the Binky during the day and sleeping through the night....THEN he got a little sick. He had a runny nose - can't sleep with a Binky in your mouth when you can't breathe through your nose. Then he got an ear infection. Can't sleep through the night when your ear hurts. So he got the bottle back (have to keep fluids in him, won't drink anything from a cup, hence the bottle), got the Binky back (poor kid, doesn't feel good, needs his Bink), got non-stop recorded episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins and My Friends Tigger and Pooh, got an entire bag of Dum-Dum suckers that he's plowed through in less than a week AND found his way back into my bed every night!!
With the exception of last December when he had Staph infection, this is really the first time my little guy's been sick. So after a week of a runny nose and cough during the night (a week during which I did not sleep), he was way more upset than a runny nose would cause, so we trekked to the doctor (who he now HATES since he can now REMEMBER previous visits, all of which have involved SHOTS). She said he had an ear infection, so we trekked to the pharmacy to get his prescription filled. Next to the drop-off counter are pregnancy tests/do-it-yourself candy sucker kits/thermometers/condoms/etc. - VERY random things. Some of the stuff on the shelf came in packaging meant for the candy aisle (and I don't mean the sucker kits), and my toddler apparently recognized the candy aisle and wanted an interesting assortment of flavored condoms. So, I promised my sad little sack of pity (he played it up BIG time in the doctor's office) all the candy he wanted. Hence the bag of Dum-Dums. And this is how he watches TV - kicked back, totally relaxed, and confident in his ability to MANUEVER us into doing whatever he wants.

Nice skills, Aaron. It really is amazing what they can get us to do, and how quickly they figure out all our weaknesses.
