We started the month of June with a trip to Michigan to see Grandma B. The plane ride out there was a tad rough for Gab - she was horribly against napping in someone's arms (still pretty much is unless desparate!) and the 9 hour trip from our house - airport - Chicago airport - drive to Grandma's inevitably spanned a couple of naptimes. Aaron was a trooper, though, with his portable DVD player on his lap tray (he had Tangled and Despicable Me pretty much MEMORIZED by the end of the trip!)
We did a lot of playing at Lake Michigan to beat the heat and humidity, A LOT of bubbles and chasing birds in Grandma's big backyard, a lot of torturing Grandma's dogs, and A LOT of crying in the car (thanks, Gab). I thought this trip was going to ruin her for the car seat, but she's done pretty well since we've been home.
These are my little Cinderellas, I put them to work cleaning out the fridge : ) That IS a sponge in Aaron's hand. My kind of guy!
We miss our summer nannies, Ashli and Ella. Ashli took over 200 (TWO HUNDRED) excellent pictures of my kids in less than 2 months. They loved staying at home (especially Gab, who NEEDS her dark, quiet room to sleep in) and sleeping in and playing where they're most comfortable. Maybe we'll see you girls next summer??? : ) Thanks, you two lovelies!
